MLK LEADERSHIP SERIES

Each year we partner with the Mayor of Orlando’s MLK Holiday Commission to host our MLK Commemorative Luncheon and Leadership Forum

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

Through our Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College educational initiative, scholarships are awarded to deserving students who are preparing to attend an accredited college or university

BELFORD V. LAWSON ORATORICAL COMPETITION

The Belford V. Lawson Oratorical Contest allows middle and high school students to demonstrate their oratorical skills in a competitive but educational format.

YOUNG MEN OF DISTINCTION

This program focuses on developing young men along the following dimensions: Academic, Leadership, Social, and Personal Development

HEAD START TO LITERACY

We help the Head Start teachers to create a high-quality early childhood learning experience by providing books and materials to Head Start programs in Orlando, specifically in underserved communities

The financial support provided by the Hankins Johnson Education Foundation helped me to focus on my classes and not have to worry about funding my first year. The I.S. Hankins-F.A. Johnson Education Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) charitable organization that was established in March 1993, by the Orlando Alumni Chapter (Delta Xi Lambda) of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. in honor our belated Brothers I. Sylvester Hankins and Felton. A. Johnson. The purpose of the Foundation is to promote, support, and instill in youth the values of high educational achievement, leadership and community service. The Foundation provides academic, personal, leadership and social development to young men in the Metro Orlando area through the Young Men of Distinction Male Mentoring Program (YMOD). The Foundation also provides funding for other educational and community service initiatives of the Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
